ASSISTANT PROJECT DIRECTOR
Viet-Nam Assistance for the Handicapped (VNAH) (www.vnah-hev.org) based in McLean, Virginia, is a nonprofit organization with humanitarian and development assistance programs in Viet Nam.
On-going projects include technical assistance to the Government of Viet Nam on policy reform related to policies and programs for people with disabilities and laws and regulations to promote civil society; vocational training and employment assistance for people with disabilities; production and delivery of wheelchairs, prosthetic and orthotic devices; small rural development projects and disaster relief assistance.
USAID recently awarded VNAH a grant to provide technical assistance and training to relevant Government of Viet Nam agencies in an effort to design and implements 1) Policies and programs for people with disabilities and 2) Research and technical assistance to draft a national progressive NGO law.
The Assistant Project Director (APD) has primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the USAID-funded project on disability policy reform, NGO law as well as report/proposal writing and program development. The ADP will be located in VNAH’s Hanoi office and work under the general guidance of the VNAH Country Representative. Applicants must have experience in design and management of development program/project, with at least two to five years of experience overseas. Experience in areas of disability, civil society as well as management of disability or related programs preferred. Applicants must have outstanding English writing skills and be prepared to submit relevant writing samples. Salary is commensurate with background and experience. Appropriate housing allowances are included.
